Swifties for Harris are trolling MAGA Swift fans in hopes of scoring Eras Tour tickets; Frog Prince is the new Rodent Man; Emma Chamberlain is the face of The Face this month; and Blip — the cool girl’s smoking cessation brand — tapped indie sleaze legend Cobrasnake to help announce their expansion into CVS.

TIKTOK HAS 15 MINUTES TO FIGHT FOR ITS LIFE, cnn
TikTok will have 15 minutes today to dissuade a federal appeals court from supporting a possible U.S. ban that’s set to go into effect in January. As one of the app’s 170 million U.S. users, I’m very curious to watch this unfold.
LIFE IN THE FEVER-DREAM BUSINESS, theatlantic
Savanah Moss, 25, has more than 11M fans on TikTok, a devoted following who watch her short films — and I do mean short; they’re mostly around 30 seconds — on loop. The “fever dreams,” as she calls them, are “funny and freaky, playfully innocent with a sinister undercurrent.” Damon Lindelof, the Emmy-winning co-creator of Lost, is among her admirers: “I was immediately struck by the DIY energy and the sheer audacious creativity,” he said, “the deadpan silliness mixed with the avant-garde weirdness. Her stuff feels to me like it’s what David Lynch would be doing if he was Gen Z.”
MILLENNIALS AND GEN XERS — NOT GEN ZERS — LEAD JUMP IN "RELIGIOUSLY UNAFFILIATED,” axios
Every age group has seen declines in religious affiliation during the past decade, but older millennials — ages 30 to 49 — are “driving the surge.” Over the last decade, the percentage of religiously unaffiliated among that age group jumped nearly 48%. Those 18 to 29 — older Generation Zers — also saw increases in the number who identified as religiously unaffiliated, growing from 32% to 36%. (Here’s an interesting counterpoint!)
HOW THE LAST EIGHT YEARS MADE YOUNG WOMEN MORE LIBERAL, nyt
In 2001, young men and women had similar political ideologies — women were more likely to be liberal than men, “but just by a little.” Things began to shift around 2016; these days, around 40 percent identify as liberal, compared with just 19 percent who say they’re conservative. “Even though it was this crushing disappointment,” said Danielle Stephenson, 25, of experiencing Hillary Clinton’s loss, “I’m honestly really glad that it happened because it made me feel angry in a really productive way. It was like, wow, we have a lot of work to do.”
NEW UNIVERSITY RULES CRACK DOWN ON GAZA PROTESTS, motherjones
Over the summer, at least 20 colleges and university systems — representing more than 50 campuses — tightened the rules governing protests on their property. At Carnegie Mellon University, for example, any “expressive activity” involving more than 25 students must be registered at least three business days prior to the event, and be signed off on by a “Chief Risk Officer.”
THE GENERATION HELPING TO PROP UP THE US ECONOMY, ft
Gen Z and millennials have the most discretionary spending power out of any other generation — largely because they have and continue to benefit from parental subsidies. Many don’t own homes, more live at home with their parents than at any time on modern record, and over half still remain on their parents’ cell phone plans. Feels like this could be an issue at some point…
