For years, Gen Z has oscillated between ridiculing and romanticizing millennial culture. Back in 2023, Business Insider wrote about the rise of “millennialcore,” the TikTok trend where Gen Z edited together clips of millennials making stupid faces and using dated slang, set to Aphex Twin’s “QKThr.” At the time, it seemed that the younger generation was united in one belief: that millennials are so freaking lame.
