The Live Nation president apologizes to Taylor Swift and her fans for the ticketing fiasco; Justin Bieber just sold his catalog for $200 million; Apple Martin is now a Chanel girl; and “Will Gen Z Be the Reason the Personal Check Dies Out?” asks one headline as if it’s not dead already.

GEN Z’S DISTORTED SENSE OF SELFIE, nyt
As the #NoFilter trend wanes, young people are experimenting with new ways to warp images of themselves online. Enter the traffic mirror.

So goes Gen Z’s latest approach to the self-portrait. The #NoFilter selfie is out, and obvious, goofy distortion is in. There’s the 0.5 ultra-wide-angle lens for extreme forced perspective, the A.I. portrait generator for rendering you like a painting, and the lo-fi digital camera for a grainy, nostalgic quality. Some young people in search of these effects are also turning to an item better known for capturing interstates than influencers: the traffic mirror.

GEN ZERS WON'T EVEN APPLY TO A JOB IF THE SALARY ISN'T LISTED, insider
According to survey results from Adobe's Future Workforce Study, “the top three reasons that upcoming and recent grads would turn down a job include low pay, poor work-life balance, and unattractive benefits.” Well, yeah.

TEACHERS ARE USING TIKTOK TO CALL OUT THEIR ABYSMAL WORKING CONDITIONS, wapo
”Low pay and growing demands from administrators and school board members, coupled with the lack of respect from parents and politicians, have pushed educators to leave the profession.” Gen Z is even less tolerant of b*llshit than the millennials quoted in the piece, which does not bode well for the future of education. :/

NETFLIX HELPS BUMBLE MATCHES FIND COMMON INTERESTS WITH GAME ABOUT POPULAR SHOWS, techcrunch
Bumble is testing the launch of a weekly in-app Netflix-themed question game called “Netflix Nights In” that asks users questions about a popular Netflix show, like Stranger Things, Squid Game, and…Emily in Paris. (Imagine meeting your future husband via Emily in Paris trivia on Bumble!) In other news, CNBC wants us to believe Gen Zers are “turning to dating apps like Bumble for platonic friendships.”

INSTAGRAM HAS A WHITE NATIONALIST ‘GROYPER’ PROBLEM, vice
White Christian nationalist “groypers” are thriving on Instagram, posting memes with racist, anti-semitic, and homophobic tropes while others pose as clean-cut conservatives to lure in new, college-aged recruits.
