Woof, my kid's middle school turned the engineering class (an expanded woodshop class) into computer engineering. My daughter was pissed when she walked into class the first day of the school to find out the physical tools she had signed up to use had pivoted to SketchUp. When I inquired into the change, I was told "we live in Silicon Valley" (no we don't, it's just the Bay Area) and that this class better meets the moment.
Mind you, this school already has a FabLab as well as a separate computer science electives.
